2009 Art Lecture Season, Ringling College Association
On Wednesday April 18, Sarasota resident Jorge Blanco, distinguished sculptor, graphic designer, humorist, and illustrator, spoke about his life, inspiration and creative work at the Selby Library Lecture Hall. His vibrant work, “The Runners”, is permanently installed in the median of US 41 opposite Art Center Sarasota.

The Art in Public Places Initiative of the Leawood Arts Council hosted the dedication of a group of new sculptures by Jorge Blanco. These brightly painted aluminum sculptures by Blanco were commissioned by APPI to celebrate the athletic endeavors that take place in Leawood City Park. Sculptor, Jorge Blanco attended the dedication.
